Moss Meander walks Mead's Quarry with a naturalist and a hand lens Saturday afternoon
Moss holds the story of the forest.

Moss, the park says, is where children learned to look for fairies, and it is also an organism that holds the story of the forest in its structure. Moss Meander is two hours at Mead's Quarry with an Ijams Nature Center naturalist, learning to tell the species apart and what each one says about the ground it grows on, at the one time of year the moss is the greenest thing in the woods. Meet at the picnic tables by the quarry lot at two; it is fifteen dollars, for ages sixteen and up, and the walk is on uneven trail. Saturday is mostly sunny and 66.
