Earl's sits at 610 Waterfront Drive, down where Suttree Landing meets the river, and it runs a different special every day of the week. Thursday is ten-dollar Patrón mango margaritas. Friday is nine-dollar spicy pineapple ones. Saturday is eight-dollar house margaritas, and Sunday is seven-dollar mimosas and Bloody Marys. All of them run the full day, eleven to ten.
The new column
What is new this week is a second Saturday board that runs alongside the margaritas: two dollars off drafts and two off pizza, six-dollar Orange Bliss, and beer buckets at six for the price of five, plus a run of four- and five-dollar shots. It is there because the Vols are home at 7:45, and because the tables at Earl's face open water about ten minutes' walk from where half the stadium crowd parks.
The food is the reason to get there before the drinks are, and eleven in the morning is a real opening time rather than a technicality. If Saturday night belongs to the stadium, Sunday at the water is the recovery.
